The Wimps are Returning to the Boat

Happy New Year from all of the Jones family!  (Craig, Jan, Larry, Roberta, Chris, Lynne, Ella, Cyrus)

When I asked Tango if he was ready to leave the luxurious digs we've been sharing with our hosts Phil and Nancy and go back to the boat, he got up and hid in the closet. Although it has been great to be on land in Miami, the time has come to bid the fair city a fond farewell and head for parts south--the Keys. We leave on Monday. Hopefully the weather has changed to the warm side for the duration of winter.
For the last two weeks, I have been studying for the General Ham Radio License test.  Larry started studying a few days before the test.  And would you believe it--we both passed.  I won't tell you who did better.   Larry is busily hooking up all the equipment so that we can keep in touch while in the Bahamas. We hope to cross over when the winds are favorable.  It will be fun to see who we can hear and who can hear us.   I also bought a bunch of cotton so that I can knit washcloths while we sail--put in your order soon.  The reason for the  washcloths is that I have failed miserably at the scarf  I attempted.  It was deemed a wise idea to go back to the basics.  Before we left I bought a Kindle to use on the boat and I highly recommend it. The NY Times appears daily and  downloading books is amazingly easy and quick.  The screen is easily read.  Between these pastimes, and sailing, and sightseeing, boredom  has not been a factor.

Look forward to more reports of sights along the way.  Here's to safe and enjoyable travels once more.
